Jon Ward founded PickMeUp in 1997. Throughout his employment career he saw a need for a caring alternative to expensive ambulances and to personal transportation, which is not always an option. Once he found out what the outrageous price was for medical transportation in local areas, he decided he was going to start a company that had reasonable prices and the most personable and caring service that you can receive in a non-emergency transportation company. That was what formulated PickMeUp Medical Transport, which hopes to be serving people for a long time. PickMeUp is a service and care oriented company that intends to give each and every patron the care and respect that they deserve.
In July of 2001 PickMeUp Medical Transport, Inc. was awarded the statewide transportation contract from Medicaid. Since then we have been providing transportation for Medicaid patients. This also enabled us to become the first statewide non-emergency medical transportation provider with offices in Ogden, Salt Lake, Orem, Richfield, Cedar City, St. George and Blanding. That gives us flexibility to offer companies that may have facilities statewide the opportunity to only use one, transportation provider.
